I've heard of guys cutting on day 30. Whats the earliest you guys have them? I've cut a couple times at 48 with no issues..

I've cut on 45 a few times...After I did - I wish I hadn't but everything turned out fine...I have killed a little Lesser in the egg that was cut on day 49...My fault - I keep poking at him trying to get him flip over to see his pattern...

I cut this last clutch (butter X pied) on day 48 all seems well. I'll wait until day 55 or so before I cut the tops off..:D

As long as I'm incubating at 89 degrees I feel golden cutting on day 50. Day 48 I get nervous but as long as you don't muck around with the eggs too much you can get away with going even earlier...imo

I have cut them usually on day 54.... I incubate at 89.5F and most of the clutches start to pip at day 57 for me. I like cutting just to make sure all are doing ok, no wrappers or self stranglers.... I've saved a few in doing so.

I incubate at 89 and I have cut a little peep hole in them at 48 days but most of them I will cut at 52-55 days just to be safe. Only two people I know have cut that early and one learned it from the other......

I do not cut until the first pip, and then I only make the cut bigger so I can check the baby out.

The earliest I've cut was around day 45 and I felt like the fluid in the egg got more dried up than when I cut a lot later or don't cut at all, so that did make me nervous at the time. The babies turned out fine even so. Still though, in the end I seem to have a lot more fun when the snakes all hatch out without assistance.

I cut just about every egg at day 30. Usually just a peep hole like Phil said. But, The last few clutches I got some kind of fly in my incubator. Then I had maggots crawling inside and out of the eggs! I had to go in 4-5 times a day with a q tip and get them out in fear they would eat the babies. I think I'm going to STOP cutting until day 52ish from now on!!

BTW, It was in mid to late August when the flies showed up.

I cut a few clutches at day 50 last season - just a little flap to confirm what I'd seen in candling -- all went well except on one clutch - I cut them and then later that night I found an albino had crawled out of his egg and died - don't know if my cutting made him come out too soon or maybe it was because the eggs were still in a sealed container and he couldn't get enough air (lesson learned - I put a vented lid on after cutting now) -- but it was sad.

It's hard to wait, but I cut eggs on day 52. :yessir:

I still wait for the first pip!

I use to be a butcher every egg at day 50 but I would always want to F around to see if they would roll over....Im going to try my best not to cut atall this season

I cut a clutch on day 52 last season. Out of 6 one lived. They developed some kind of white slime on them. They didnt look fully developed after I pulled them out when I knew they were dead. I dont know what happened but either way I wait until the first one pips now. I also go to great lengths to make sure whatever I cut with is sterile.
