Anyone here(Jeremy? lol) keeping or have kept Gekko smithi(green eyed gecko,AKA green eyed tokay)??. I have been looking to get some ever since I first saw them and hoping to pick up 1 or 2 this Sunday at the white plains show,if I can find some of course.. I have heard there care is pretty much the same as tokays but not sure how true that is?. Sadly not finding much care info on them..

Well Jason i just may have a answer for you.
Yes keep them like G.gecko!!!!!That sums that up because you have kept them before!
The other deal is that most (So called G.smithi)that are imported are actually G.siamensis.
But in the past year there have been a good fluctuation of G.smithi along with G.monarchis comming into the trade.
It would really have to be some pictures to positivly I.D. them.
There really isnt much difference beetween smithi and siamensis other then scale counts and a few other things.
Personally i would say save your money.Again thats just my point of veiw.
Also i could put you in the direction of true smithi or siamensis if thats what you are looking for.
Like i have said before!!!Common names dont mean a damn thing to me when dealing with obscure gecko species.
You can look at a common name like house gecko and find anything from Hemidactylus frenatus to gehyra mutilata,in a group of house gecko's.
