Alright, So I've been hunting around for a decent sized arboreal cage for my Dipsadoboa pair. And most arboreal caging was designed with boids in mind, not so much little african colubrids. So, Since I already have some of their racks and terrestrial caging, I decided to try the A10 model for arboreal. Got it shipped on time, arrived today and I just finished setting it up and already, I am totally stoked about it. Pics of the set-up to follow.

Just out of the box

Had a radiant heat panel drop-shipped from reptile basics, AP installed it.

precision cutting on the edges and cord runs (yep, these are stackable).

I really dig it, so far. I'll post a few more pics once it dries and I get it furnished...... Oh and dimensions are 2 x 2 x 3. :yessir:

So you have to seal the APs?

janeothejungle
01-23-2009, 06:27 PM
Yep. But it takes all of 5 minutes and it's then water tight. Cages are shipped broken down (conveniently) and it kind of goes with the territory....

A guy on another forum got these cages from animal Plastics. Ghi Reptiles was working with Ap to build a better cage for his amazons. I like the looks of these. Of course in Florida we can get away with the screen tops and just lights. I would love to see a wall of these with GTPhttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3522/3221517164_56f3ac4bea.jpg

Nice looking cage. I'm going to have to take a look at them a little closer, I have a few old Matrix arboreal cages that are in need of replacement and that looks like it may be a better alternative to building new ones.

Excuse my non-professional sealing, but this is what the sealed seams look like. I generally do the bottom and about 1/3 of the way up the inside corners for a nice watertight seal....

Delivery on this guy was ~3 weeks and of course, it was held up while I got the heat panel drop shipped to AP.... I just ordered a few more terrestrials and I believe the current wait is around 4 weeks. Well worth it.

Alright, So I got the new digs half finished (still need to pick up some more fake vinery), and my spunky girl is moved in and testing the place for weakness. She's in shed at the moment, so she'd not as bright as she normally is, but you get the idea..... I'm also going to have to change the light in the cage as the yellow hue is driving me nuts trying to get a decent pic....

Ali is great, she helped me with sorting out the Sterilite tubs replacements. She even invited me down to pick my rack up when it's done, I can't wait to see their operation.
