I have built both and really like them. The only thing that I would like to add is the birthing rack needs spacers to hold up plywood. If the spacers are not used the tubs have too much of a space, and the rats could easily get out.

I built the rat rack and just let them do their birthin' and nursin' in those tubs. I DO need to build another rack though:lol:
