We always talk about the bad guys... Lets talk about the good.

Who have you bought from online and would buy from again?

Who has a killer website with updated available animals and the whole nine?

Last summer I bought from Bailey & Bailey. Got my spider stud male from them. Hopefully this year I see little spider heads popping out. I could use a few girls.

You?

Well, on my list theres...:

Jenea Wood (aka FloridaHogs) of Guardian Reptiles - would never hesitate to buy anything from her

Justin Kobylka of Jkobylkareptiles.com - never actually bought anything from him, but I was in a couple classes with him in college and knew him before he started his business. I hear nothing but good things about him, and I don't think anyone would object to him being on this list.

Kurt Schatzl, President of the New England Herpetological Society - I got my first group of African house snakes from him. He was a pleasure to deal with, and each transaction went by without a hitch. I wouldn't think twice about buying from him in the future.

Will Bird, "Keeper Extraordinare" of Ectotherms.net - Never bought from him myself, but know a couple close friends who have, and like Justin Kobylka, everything I hear about Will and how he deals with his customers is top-notch.

A couple other friends from another forum that I have to give a shout out to:

Justin Guyer of Guyer Genetics - great guy, deals with corn snakes, and knows his stuff. He won't do you wrong.

Kevin Batchelor (aka SouthernWolf) of Ridgetop Reptiles - another great guy who won't do you wrong. I hear he's a crackin' good photographer as well!

I've bought from 4 people online.. I'd buy from two of them again... First Tristan Egualada.. I bought a blk pastel male from him and he's been a breeding machine.. He packed him well and was really nice to deal with.. The other person is John Stranahan.. Jas was great to deal with and the animals were packed really well all ate acouple days after arriving... Those two I would deal with in a minute.... They are class acts and if they have something your looking for don't hesitate to hit them up!!

I've bought from two people online. One was Luke Snell (moreliasinwonderland.com-but you have to go to another forum to find him 'cause the site's not up yet)-he was polite, professional and knowledgable. The other person I don't want to mention yet because the transaction is still in progress, even though I found him to be professional and knowledgable as well.

Gib, from the Bush-League. He has the best customer service of anyone I have ever delt with. We had some shipping issues that were not his fault and he really took care of me. He is a real stand up guy 100% and I would recomend him to anyone!!!!

Living Art Ball Pythons. I bought an adult killer bee and an adult lemon blast from them. Great people and great animals!

Since most of my founding females came from Will Bird - I'll have to give Will a HUGE thumbs up!

Adam of 8ballpythons is a pleasure to deal with, and the "swag" that comes with your order is a bonus! Hands down THE most professional packing I've ever seen. No newspaper as cushioning, but stuffed animal filling instead - your snake travels on a "cloud" of comfort.

John Stranahan was professional in my deal with him.

Justin Kobylka is "local" to me (if you call 2 hours local). I have one animal from him, and wouldn't hesitate to purchase more from him.

Kevin and Kara of NERD have treated me wonderfully!

Ed Deupree of Wild Morph Pythons is a class act, as is Tim Bailey!

Michael Cole was also great to work with.

Michael Jolliff is a great guy and very interesting to talk to as well.

And I hope to one day add animals from Albey Scholl! Awesome guy in person! And his animals speak for themselves!

I've been very "lucky" in that I haven't purchased from anyone that I wouldn't buy from again.

Well I'll list breeders in no particular order.

Camlon Reptiles - Excellent customer service, great looking animals!

Adam @ 8ball - Great looking snakes as always, I've done several buys from him.

Jasballs - He really is a great guy if you need help, or just want to shoot the breeze, snakes are top notch.

Garrick DeMeyer - Always willing to help, he's local to shows and is one to take time to actually greet you at his table and answer ANY questions, excellent quality stock!

Chun Ku (Dynasty Reptiles)- Bought some interesting CH from him, great prices, and fast to reply to emails.

I dont have much online experience but Ill share the few transactions Ive had.

Gerry from Ssscales: Got a trio of leopard geckos from Ger. Great guy to deal with, top notch animals, the whole nine yards.

Repti-racks: Got a trios of flavi/argus from them. They arrived looking even better than they did in the pics. Nicely packed, arrived on time, good communication.

Mike at Mikes Monitors: Got my Dubia roaches from Mike. No problems.

Underground Reptiles: Two blue tongues from them and a bunch of dry goods. Everything went well. I have seen mixed reviews about these guys so maybe tread carefully. But for what its worth my transaction was fine.

Adam at 8ballpythons: Got a spider ball produced by Adam. Great guy, very helpful. Perfect snake. Had a question, sent him an email, he responded very quickly and is a true professional MHO.

Phil: Sorry Phil, I dont know the name of your company. Is it Black Rock Reptiles? Got my pastel from Phil at the White Plains Show along with the spider. Usually at a show you just get a plastic cup of some kind or a snake bag to take the animal home in. Phil was nice enough to pack them up in an insulated box with a heat pack. I wouldnt hesitate to buy from Phil again.

BT and Boss: Havent bought any animals from the gruesome twosome (yet). But they ooze integrity. Id buy swampland in Florida from these guys. Oh, I did get some t-shirts. Does that count? :D. I feel the same way about a lot of members of the BLBC. Off the top of my head Nor, Sput, Jchandler, Albey, Sublime, Larry Petty the list just goes on and on.

Pro Exotics: No live animals but I have bought all sorts of stuff from them and they are at the top of the food chain in regards to quality products and customer service. I only wish they carried more stuff! Robyn you reading this? Expand your product line dude!!

Reptile Basics: Racks, t-stats, heat tape, hides,a scale..great products and excellent customer service.

Animal Plastics: One custom cage. Excellent all the way around.

Big Apple Herp: All sorts of stuff. Super fast shipping, no issues whatsoever.

Rodentpro: I get my frozen stuff from them. I have read some complaints about the quality of their feeders. Personally, I havent had a problem. Yup, the rats dont always come lined up like soliders. And sometimes they have a little poo around their rumps or a bit of cage litter. Doesnt bother me but it might bother others. Very good prices. Once I ordered 200 pinkies and I got 50 small rats by mistake. I sent them an email and got a phone call about 20 minutes later. They explained that my pinks had gone to Ohio and I got Mr. Ohio's rats. They immediately sent out a replacement order and told me I could keep the small rats on the house. Very nice. The croc monitor enjoyed them :D

Grubco: When I run low on crickets I get a box from them. No issues here.

See, now this is where problems arise. At least one of those listed above sells WC animals (of an established species) and that makes them sketchy in my book. SO what really constitutes 'good'?? We all know there are several non-reputable dealers that have a good bit of charm and thus get 'good-guy' endorsements (J&J, anyone?) but when you look a little closer, not such good guys. So what is the criteria here? I've done business (once) with 2 or 3 people who I would never do business with again now that I know better.

Thus, is there a 'level' of business or interaction you need to have to truly recommend someone? Food for thought.

Will Bird: I purchased my diamond intergrades from him and the transaction went great. Will is a great guy to work with.

Shea Peterson: Purchased an Irian Jaya from him and have nothing negative to say. The animal was healthy, the transaction went smoothly, overall a GREAT deal.

Yasser Moustafa: Pretty much the same as the above two .

Animal Plastics: I purchased a rack system from them and it is great in everyway.

Spyder Robotics: Purchased a Thermostat with Night drop and it is great, I love it much more than my helix.

Pro Exotics: Purchased some supplies from them and they are great.

One was Luke Snell (moreliainwonderland.com-)-he was polite, professional and knowledgable.

Definately agree. Luke sent me one of his females on a breeding loan this year and he was great to work with.

Cheers!

Thanks, Phil! You were great to deal with too. I would buy from you in a heart beat.

Here is my list:

Pete Kahl - I have some amazing animals from Pete. He has helped me a lot over the years too.

Ryan Homsey from Top Notch Boas - Great friend and great animals

Neil Golli - Great guy to work with! Has helped me a ton.

Michael Cole - Just got a female het clown from him last weekend. Excellent guy to deal with.

Clay English - Great guy... Enough said!

Gerry from ssscales - great friend in the hobby

Mike Rekowski - Some of the best leos around

Albey - top notch leos

Jay Vella - Prehistoric Pets: I've picked up majority of my Patternless AfRocks in the past from Jay. All came in, in excellent condition, bred well, fed well, and were flawless.

Mike Wilbanks - Constrictors unlimited: I have purchased a few different Retics from Mike, including one of my previous Super Tiger het. Amels.. All the animals were flawless, fed well, gained a nice high contrasting color as they developed...and were in my opinion, superior.

Kara and Kevin - N.E.R.D.: I had originally intended to pick up some Ball Pythons from NERD, and wound up buying a pair of Het. Daddy Weird Retics. Before the fire, the animals grew quickly, weren't as flighty as most juvenile Retics, and fed very well.

Bob Clark - Bob Clark Reptiles: I had picked up quite a few of my Burmese Pythons from Bob Clark in the past. All came in in terrific condition, fed well, and grew in the manner that a Burm 'should'. They were all incredible quality, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Bob again.

Animal Plastics, INC.: I have purchased numerous cages for my giants from AP. All withstood their weight, and strength, vs. other caging options, held humidity well, and functioned correctly. Grade A+ in my book.

The Bean Farm: Majority of my supplies have come from the Bean Farm. Quick shipping, quality products, and majority of the time I had gotten a freebie in my package too.

Kelly "Swifty" Swift - Swifts Invertebrates: 99% of my Tarantulas, and roaches had come from Swifty. Quality animals, always produced by him unless stated otherwise. His tarantulas are the cream of the crop... especially his new Australian stock :D.

Midwest Tongs: I've had tongs, and hooks literally snap in the field when handling or pinning hots. These hooks are really high quality, and I've never had such problem with them. GREAT bang for your buck. I would never hesitate to buy from them again.

One of my top favorite Breeders that hasn’t been listed so far is Greg Graziani. His animals are incredible (his Cinnamons are the reason my Pewters are considered to be some of the finest that have ever been produced), and his customer service is second to none. He never fails to get back to me if I have a question and does not hold back the important information that many other breeders so conveniently leave out. A class act all the way.

I would also have no hesitations to doing repeat business with Matt Lerer from GHI Reptiles. Thanks for the great Lesser Matt (even though the little HOMO isn’t breeding yet).

There's only a few guy's I'd like to add that haven't been mentioned yet.

I've gotten a few of my black bloods from Jason Holzworth. Great guy to deal with -- unfortunately, last I knew he was selling off most of his collection. Got some great deals because of it, but it still sucks.

John Piro is someone that I wouldn't hesitate to buy from again. I haven't anything bought anything from him over the internet, but I've bought some balls from him the past two years that we've gone to Tinley. Great guy to talk to, top notch animals. He's not shy about sharing his tips for selective breeding on the animals you get from him either.

I got a lemon pastel from Tosha that died through no fault of his own (read caretakers screw up) and she, out of the goodness of her heart, replaced that one with Diablo, my current pastel.

Scott Miller- I got Cybil, my Calabar as a hatchling. Great guy. Great service. Need to get back with him for a boyfriend for Cybil:cheers:

Neil Golli- I got my Saharan sand boas from him. Another good ol' boy.

I wouldn't hesitate to deal with any of these people in the future

Well here are some people that I have had good dealings with.

VPI - great pair of Coastal Carpets back in '98

Jim Peters - Local, amazing boas, and hooked me up with a sweet pair of Coastal back in '97

Ben Siegel - If you want some stuff that isn't commonly bred here i.e. Moluccans etc.. he will always have the nicest and cleanest animals around.

Micheal Cole - bought, sold, and traded with him and always felt good about the animals and the deal.

Ray Bond - A boa guy that traded me an exceptional Arabesque boa that he produced for a Mojave that I was looking to move. He was willing to ship first and his boa has been top notch an he has been very happy with the mojave. All around good deal.

Lisa Staley - A hobbiest that I got my Womas from in a trade deal. She and her family are very nice people and I would have no problems working with them.

I left the biggest for last.

Tom Crutchfield - Contraversial, but the man has done a lot for herptoculture. He probably know more about West Indian Epicrates and Tropidophis Boas than God. Back in '79 he wrote a paper on the territorial behavior of Retics. My visits to his place in the '90s opened up a world to me that books and pictures on a computer can't touch. I still remember being at the shop when he got in some of the first Savu pythons into the country and it was just amazing seeing something that I had never even seen in photos before. We all know the trouble Crutchfield went through, but the fact that he has paid his dues to get back into doing what he loves the most shows that this is in his blood and that is someone I can relate to. I haven't done business with him lately, but he will always be one of the guys I looked up to, and I got some seriously smokin' animals off of him through the years.

Some of the othe people I have delt with have not exactly be all that strait, and for some reason most of them have been BP people. I think the scammers gravitate this way because of the big bucks.

Wild Bill

Here is my short list:

Marc Bailey - Marc is awesome sells ball pythons and does tons of rodents.
Adam Wysocki - Adam is awesome, always willing to work with you.
John Stranahan - Jas is awesome to deal with.
Cathy Peterson - Cat72 on fauna, great lady with great animals.
Dave McGowen - Awesome animals, great to work with.

Only have 2 I can add:

Tom Keogan - Got my albino male and het albino female from him.

Both have excellent communication and made for smooth transactions. They are also both happy to just talk snakes and have a genuine interest in how the animals are doing down the road.

I've dealt with a few that are already on here but never hurts to mention them twice:

NERD - Got my first BP morph ever there and Kevin, Kara and Andy have all always been awesome to work with. I'm always up there scoping out the new hatchlings to see if they have anything I want lol.

Reptile Basics - I get just about everything I need from Rich and his racks are top notch!

BHB - Really cool to deal with, their prices are actually quite good and their customer service is great!

Yeah short list and mostly just the big names but I wouldn't hesitate to deal with the majority of the people here on the BLBC so I'm sure I'll be able to add at least a few of you to that list someday! :master:

For my first post..Let me say that Scott @ BrooksideReptiles.com is the best guy in the world to buy from and talk too....He has become one of my best friends....It all started with a male breeder Cinny....Look him up...and buy from him... And I am sure all of us have made friends with breeders...That,to me,is the best part of this hobby....
