didn't know males were that much more intense than the ladies.

Actually, with the Saharans, there is a red variety and a yellow variety. But yes, in either case, males are definitely more intense.

We just happened to get one of each, so the female really looks blah compared to her hubby.

I have always wanted to get some uros. I think they are very cool. You have a very nice pair there, good luck with them.

I had a pair many years ago. WC obviously. They did so well for about 6 months. Eating everything in sight. Motoring around as much as uros will. They looked fine.

Then the female started to slide downhill. I tried to work with her but unfortunately she died. The male lived another two weeks and then he went down absolutely no warning. I dont know what happened.

In hindsight I probably was not keeping them hot enough. Higher temps may have helped. Soakings may have helped. But maybe they were carrying something inside that I had no control over.

Not hard at all. They're vegetarians and just need to be really hot.
