was bored today............

if anyone is interested, the top shelf is holding the "new" 12 qt's (1753) from Target and the second shelf is holding the recently discontinued 1754's. On the top shelf you can see the gap in the middle of the tub that Wild Bill mentioned in some previous threads. Its not really a deal breaker but you just need to leave as little gap as possible when spacing the shelves. And the 1754's are a tad wider and its a much tighter fit on the second shelf. Anyways, just wanted to show for comparison in case anyone has homemade racks and is using the sterilites.........

Very nice!! It looks professional.... Do you buy your melamine by the sheet or is it the pre-cut shelving???? I'm looking for somewhere with 4'x8' sheets... I can't find any... If any of you fellas know where I could find something like this it would be great.... And again that a really professional looking rack.. Great job on it bro..

what he said!........yep, Home Depot is where I go. They have pre-cut 2x4 sheets and other smaller closet shelf type sizes and then a big 4x8 sheet for the big jobs.

Hey Jenea........They were actually the 2 x 4 pre-cut shelves but I cut them down into 42.75 x 17 to be exact. I made the sides out of a 4 x 8 piece and the back out of some cheap 2 x 4 pieces of fiber board (?? I think thats what its called)

Again very nice job.

no heat here. I've been using ambient temps (heating and cooling the whole room) for the past 3 years and its working for me like a charm. All of my snakes eat, shed, defecate, and breed like clockwork. The first rack I built, I said I would go back and wire it with heat tape but then I just never did it. My snakes got along fine without it so its just been that way ever since. The only thing that I have to deal with, and I think some other breeders have touched on this too, is that my females will hold onto their eggs a few days longer after their pre-lay shed. Some breeders may get eggs around day 30 (or even less) but I'm always 35+.

Very nice! PM me for my shipping info........LOL :P

ya.....these melamine racks I build are monsters. Was just telling the wife that if we ever move, they aren't moving! They are being disassembled and then reconstructed.
