Hi there.
Ok, quick question.
My father in law is in the US (Cali) until Wednesday on a helicopter expo (he is a chopper pilot).
I want him to get me some supplies from say Walmart.
What is the best mite/ thermostat/general reptile stuff that one can pick up from walmart?
I am specifically interested in the Mite stuff?
I realize that there is a tread on general mite products but he doesn’t have tons of time and can only visit walmart.
So let’s rephrase the question...
If you guys were stuck in the land of the donkey cart (Africa) and could make one supply run to the USA, what would you get for your herps?
Thanks guys!

You wont find this stuff at walmart. But there are Petco's everywhere in cali. I would search Petco's website and get an idea of what they have. The only thing you might want him to pick up from walmart is some sterilte tubs, but that might be a pain to bring back.
But even petcos stuff isnt all that quality, No good thermostats and only a decent mite treatment. I would find out where he is, then do a search for local type pet stores. Local stores are more specialized and sell higher quality stuff compared to the national chain stores. Most worthy stores have websites so you can see what they have. If all that isnt too much to ask of him.
But if he is limited, Go to a petco they are as easy to find as a walmart.
Hope this helps.

Walmart should carry a product called "Equate"...it's a spray treatment for head lice (to be used on bedding, etc.). It has the same active ingrediate as Prevent-a-Mite. You might want 2-3 cans because I believe they are only 5-7 ounces or so.

Do they even allow aerosol cans on flights anymore?

Equate is good, And plastic tubs of various sizes that make good tubs for racks.... some dishes I have got make good water bowls, bulk paper towel.... quite a bit of herp stuff if you do some looking. Humidity gauges, power cords for linking sections of heat tape, It may not be intended for herps, but you gotta look at in a herp way....
