I really hate this show... even if the episode doesn't have one snake in it still they have a snake graphic for the countdown, a giant looking snake with two heads, rattles like a rattlesnake, and strikes at you about 10 times throughout the show if the countdown starts with #10.

Is that the show with the 20something y/o herpetologist host? If so, I like it although I havent watched the episode your talking about. I've seen 2 episodes, first one was in Madagascar and they had a nice feature on Uroplatus although the show was all about chameleons. The showed some beautiful Pardalis and some Brookesia minima in the wild, I loved it. The other episode I saw dealt with the Lousiana bayou and had a great feature on Macroclemys temmincki and showed him catching a turtle that he had no idea what it was and had to consult a field herping book, it made me like the guy.

Can't remember a countdown. I've only seen the show I'm talking about between 1:30 and 4am and on either NatGeo, Dis, or Ani Pla.

Weird True and Freaky is absolutely idiotic. I love animal planet and encourage my kids to watch it instead of some of the other garbage (also make them play outside, read, etc), but it really sucks when an educational network engages in the distribution of blatant misinformation. I saw the one with the Ball Python that some girls found in a college dorm bathroom. They assumed it came through the toilet. I'd be willing to bet that it just got out of its enclosure somewhere else in the building. They did not distinguish it as a ball and made it sound like all pythons are the same thing. It's been a few weeks and I don't remember all of the details, but I remember being pretty P.O.'d about what they said. Pretty disappointing.

The countdown show is called "Most Extreme." Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. I caught the end of one called "Snake Hunters" or something like that a while back. It was a bit over the top with dramatics, but interesting to see some of the different tropical species they were after. I'd love to catch that one again and see other episodes. "Seven Deadly Strikes" is my all time favorite, though!

LOL - the roomy yells about the Geico gecko having eyelids, etc. Nice to know he's not the only kook that points out that stuff in fantasy programming. You're in good company here!
