Yesterday I was doing some maintenance and noticed this on my male spider. Anyone have any clue as to what it might be?

That's what I thought, I had just feed the day before.

Looks more like a rub that got infected to me. Has he been poking around the top of his tub or cage a lot lately?

Looks like a bite to me.. Maybe while getting the big squeeze, the rat got him from a funny angle..? He's a trooper though..

I feed him Thursday, I just noticed it yesterday but ya I think its a bite mark.

I haven't seen him rubbing at all since I noticed the wound, It isn't infected, I don't see any swelling, I think its a bit mark.

Don't you laugh at me, we ALL have a lot to learn. Can I send Crispy to you to get him/her started?
Seriously, the spider has a matching wound just opposite the bigger one. Looks exactly like what would be left if a rat's incisors grabbed a hold right there. Top and bottom set.

Naaaah...just get a decent sized pair of hemostats for those situations...
..and if they are sitting there waiting for the rat when you pull open the tub,..then just make sure they hit it in the head (just use the built in handle on the rat)...and judge that distance correctly! lol
Tell your vet what happened and ask for some silvadene cream to apply to his wounds...(I had this happen to a co-dom female and she recovered like a vampire with that stuff!)

If you look at the pic I dont know if its the way your holding the snake, but it looks like on the side nearest the top theres some swelling going on there. I would say its more than a day or two old by the scabbing.
What has worked well with me and I keep in general for all the reptiles in the house is a bottle of betadine and non pain relieving neosporin. you can take either and dab on with a q tip. Or both if your like me. Silvadine would work well too. I have used that as well.
