I have a 55 gallon with Lake Malawi Mbuna. They are breeding like crazy in there. I used to have several large tanks with cichlids. One was Lake Malawi Haplochromis and I had one that was South Americans. I sold most of my tanks to make time for my herp hobby. But, some day when I retire will have a 300 gallon Haplochromis Tank. BrucenBruce 10-22-2008, 03:05 PM I've had fishtanks pretty much continuously since I was seven. Right now, there are three - a seventy five mostly Malawi, a twenty gallon grow-out for the above, and a fourty breeder planted tank with tetras, dwarf gouramis and blue rams. On weekends, I feed my fishy addictions by working part time at the local public aquarium. ~Bruce constrictorkeeper 10-22-2008, 03:13 PM I still am a little involved in cichlids. Now it has a clownfish pair, and just some live rock. For a while I did a nano planted tank in the 12 gallon, Amano style... I kept a few Coral Red Pencilfish, Neon Tetras, otocinclus sp, and a German Blue Ram, and Crystal Shrimps. I've always kept freshwater tanks for about a year before I'd change them out to try something new...but I'd keep my salt tanks running, as they get better with age. It worked out well because I worked at a friend's fish shop as the "saltwater reef guy", I got everything at cost, and could just trade out anything I wanted. I'm a saltwater freak still, my big reef tank crashing was disheartening, and working with saltwater at work, I just decided to keep my home tanks low maintenance...just no time or money for the SPS tank of my dreams, but someday!!! :SAMHAIN: 147BOAS 10-22-2008, 06:29 PM i was i had 125 gallon tank but when i moved i got rid of it now i hav to get a new one cathy m 10-22-2008, 11:49 PM We used to have a few large tanks also, Scalares and Discus. I mostly have soft corals. I have a few fish and a shrimp and some aquatic plants. Reef tanks are super easy as long as you keep up with them. Awsome addition to the house. matt4797 10-23-2008, 12:21 AM I have Oscars. They are just some really fun fish to keep. JChandler 10-23-2008, 07:09 AM So misleading... I used to keep alot of freshwater fish mainly frontosa's then I tried my hand at discus. Breed the frontosa's for a few years before I got into some small saltwater setups. Gave them all up to fill my house with reptiles  147BOAS 10-26-2008, 04:21 AM We used to have a few large tanks also, Scalares and Discus.
