View Full Version : 1 Rack down, 2 to go
I only ended up going 9 high instead of 10 since I'm not the tallest of persons..........and I'll probably just build a quarantine rack with the 3 extra tubs that I'll have. The whole rack is exactly 6 ft. tall.

Thx guys for the comments. Should look pretty sweet when I have all three lined up. Can't wait to move in the snakes.

Hey Jeff, yep just standard pegboard from lowes. Its fairly inexpensive, and smooth on both sides so the tubs slide nice.
what tubs are you using?
They are CB-70's. I like the ARS tubs better but they were a bit more expensive.

Looks great, but how are you going to heat the tubs??
Hey Jenea, actually no heat on these..........I use ambient temps for my whole collection (heater hooked up to a Ranco). Hatchlings up through adults. A lot of people don't believe that it can be done, but it can! I'm going on three seasons with not a single strip of heat tape on any rack and so far I've had good results. For me it works so I'm sticking with it until it doesn't work anymore. The only residual affect that I notice, (and Greg Graziani mentioned this too when he used ambient temps) is that the gravid females will hold onto their eggs a bit longer before laying. I find this to be trues as my females are well over the 30 day mark to drop eggs, when some people get eggs at around the 27-30 day mark.
