OK, I can't find small quantities of collard, beet and mustard greens locally. I'm only feeding a single Beardie. I can get 2# bags of shredded. Can this be frozen and not break down or turn to mush on thawing? Thanks much.

You can always make a practice batch to test as well. Quig 03-13-2009, 10:31 PM Thanks Tosha. I'm not much for greens myself  but I didn't wanna have to waste 4 # of goodies. norsmis 03-14-2009, 09:08 AM Good post Tosha. Quig she is right on the mark! WHen I had iguanas I would make up a great bg batch, bag it into single serve portions and freeze it. I also sprinkled there vitamins and calcium besides the yeast on the veggies. Worked great! Tama 03-14-2009, 09:44 AM Quig do you have a Meijers by you? That's were we went to get greens for the beardies when we had them. They also sell Dandelion greens. Quig 03-14-2009, 10:15 AM They also sell Dandelion greens. Seriously?? I'll have to check that out. Oh yeah, I do have a Meijers fairly locally  Tama 03-14-2009, 10:18 AM Seriously?? Was nice because we could buy what we needed and not be stuck with bags of it. Damnitbonnie 03-14-2009, 01:40 PM When I had beardies I was able to get just about any kind of greens at a small local store. Real cheap even in the winter. Worked great! :yessir: They are right...When I had my iguanas I use to grow some veggies in the garden and freeze them all the time. Because some of the veggies get hard to find around here during the winter months.....if you could find them the price was a lot higher and the size of what you got was a lot smaller :machinegun: |
