I decided to go ahead and introduce these two snakes together last night. I haven't lowered any basking spots yet but this female's breeding history shows her to produce clutches early in the season. She's gained all her weight back plus a good 500+ grams and had been off feed for the last two weeks so I decided she's about ready for breeding again. The male is an '07 yellow belly and it looks like he will be a promising breeder. Courtship began just minutes after introducing this pair, then a couple of hours later I observed what appeared to be a good lock. Upon closer inspection, I gently pulled their tails apart and discovered there was no actual copulation yet. I am posting all of this just to illustrate that sometimes what looks to be a definite copulation may very well just be hardcore courship on behalf of the male.

Thanks guys, she is a really cool looking snake. She was bred to her son last year and made some interesting babies, but nothing that looked like her. Should definitely make some cool yellow bellies and more interesting normals at the very least.
