Drove down yesterday in hopes of catching some of the sandhill cranes during migration, bad weather and the flu wasn't helping the picture taking but figured I would post a couple that did come out okay....cloudy as hell and it just wouldn't clear up. The link has a video of the fall migration where you can see up to 20K worth of birds on the land so this fall you can bet we will go back to see if I can get some real pictures.

The little sun coming through...

Didn't go walking the mile trail through the wetlands to see if I could find any herps since the weather wasn't cooperating but I was fortunate enough to find this rare find.

Little guy didn't like me...

Saw about 30 of these out in the fields since we were there before sunrise or lack of.

Hopefully I will be able to get back sometime this summer to see a few of the birds that hang around through the summer with some decent shots with some real light...

Nice shots Jeff. What species is that blue lizard? I don't think we have those here :D
Also, I wonder what the different colors of the leg bands on the sandhills signifies?

Quig read a little sign at the viewing platform and the bands are from 3 different regions where they were banded.

Nice Pics Jeff.:yourock:
