It's not what you think LOL! Here is a picture of one of my females. I would be interested in hearing and sharing any experience with the growth, development and feeding aspects of these boas. I have 2 pairs and they are cool little snakes that seem to grow really slow and fast for long periods of time. The breeder I got them from has said he has had females go 5-7 years before they are of breeding size.

Sounds like you're a patient person. I've never worked with this species, should be a fun challenge. Good luck.

LOL Yup, I had them. My roomy still has a set (2.3)of breeders.
They do have to be around 4 before they are ready to breed successfully. Very easy to maintain at room temperature. (They don't like it hot at all.) Clutches we have had range from 2 to 7 babies.
The boys eat pinks and usually 3-4 at a time. Full sized females eat up to hoppers and 2-3 at a time. Because of their size they tend to be nest raiders in the wild and binge when they find appropriate sized morsels.
They can go a LONNNNNNG time without eating. I had babies that were born in April and never ate until after coming out of brumation the next March. Stinkers. They proved out to be good eaters after their first birthday. LOL.
Best site for great information is rubberboas.com

I actually saw a few in the wild when I was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. Never kept any though.... They are calm little buggers.....

Thanks Kare for the insight. 3 of mine eat weekly meals without a problem. One of the males has been on a fast for a really long time. He ate a small fuzzy every week for almost three months and then went on a hunger strike. He hasn't eaten in about 8 months. I have tried a bunch of different things like scenting and different prey items but no luck. Everyone says this is no big deal and that's how Rubber Boas roll.

I expected the growth rate to be about the same as Sand Boas. Not the case. The rubber boas grow very slow. Hey Kare, since you feed your multiple prey items, how often are you feeding?

I can answer for Kare, since I'm the one that still has rubber boas...lol. We feed them every week or so...sometimes every 2 weeks. Since they're nest raiders in the wild, I'll feed my males 3-4 pink mice at a time and the females get 4-5 fuzzies. Since they have small mouths, they can't handle bigger prey very well, so I give them mice no bigger than their head.
