My male BCI is staying on his cool side, and wrapping his bowl. He has never done this before. I put him in with a female, and he went straight to the cool end by the water bowl. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Generally within 7 - 10 days I'll see if he'll breed or not at that introduction. Its nothing to stress over. Some males are shy at introduction or the female may not be quite ready so no pheramones to kick him in the mood. CBMorphs 10-27-2008, 03:16 PM Some of mine do that too. Do you think that I should continue to try to breed him this season if he continues this? I will keep him in for two weeks and see how it goes. Thanks. BryonsBoas 10-27-2008, 08:10 PM If mine just sit on the cool end , they have 7 - 10 days to show me something. If nothing happens then I pull the male and intro after a week by himself. I'll do that 2 - 3 times. If nothing at all goes on then I pull the male and scrap the project for that season. CBMorphs 10-28-2008, 03:09 PM Update: I know it is not much, but this is what I came home too: http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd68/wh00h0069/Boas.jpg This gives me hope... BryonsBoas 10-28-2008, 10:05 PM If he was avoiding her at first , I'd say he's figuring it out now. CBMorphs 10-29-2008, 07:52 AM If he was avoiding her at first , I'd say he's figuring it out now. Thanks, I kept checking on them yesterday, and this morning, and he is still with her. I think he was just a little shy at first. 147BOAS 11-09-2008, 07:17 AM mine do the same thing looks good and good luck Quig 11-09-2008, 08:19 AM At least the're snugglin'. That's a good sign. I'm tryin' to make some pastel balls and the three year old male pastel is just not cooperating. I'm hopin' he warms up later. BryonsBoas 11-10-2008, 12:50 AM My younger males this year have been curling with or next the girls. I would've pulled them already but got busy with other stuff. Checked tonight and the Mot , who has been hanging out with his girl , was finally trying to spank some ass tonight. Since I've been breeding I have found a few males that need to be pulled and intro'd every week but most of ours ( 95% ) will eventually court/breed if left with the female. I've pulled a few males tonight that'll get fed tomorrow and re-intro'd next Sunday tho. For the most part , these are first time guys. Sidviciouser 11-11-2008, 11:17 AM I was going to ask what the temps are on the hot end but it looks like he figured it out. I hope it goes well for you, is this his first year breeding? Don't get discouraged when he takes a two day break from her on the cool end again. 2-3 days on, 2-3 days off. |
