Ok I bought a ton mealies a little while back. I've feed a bunch off but now I'm left with a whole of beetles.

I pulled most of the beetles and set them up in separate containers . How long till can expect little mealies to start hatching and growing?

Once they start hatching, what's the growth rate like? How long till they are a decent feedable size?

Thanks in advance..

Larry, it takes a while. Usually about 2 -3 months before you start seeing feeder size mealies. I keep a small colony of mealies, mostly the way you got yours, and have had pretty good luck. One colony is on the 4th generation for me. I rarely have to buy mealies anymore....

Great question, I purchased 6K of them and now I have a few beetles. I'm hoping to keep the whole cycle in one container. I put a grip of them in the fridge to keep them at a good feeding size.
