Derek Roddy 04-29-2009, 10:36 AM Thanks everyone.
I didn't have time to get back yesterday and fill you in. All of their heads were out last night when I left the warehouse.
I'm going back now.....I'm sure some are out. I'm going to snap some pictures....then I'll come back and answer some of the questions on the thread.
They all look fine and very pretty.
Chow,
D.
smilin-buddha 04-29-2009, 03:41 PM Look like the Roddy house will be full again this year.
Okay...where are the new pics? LOL
Congrats Derek! Can't wait to see what these guys look like. They are gonna be stunners.
Cheers!
Derek Roddy 05-01-2009, 11:35 AM Sorry I disappeared on everyone. Got busy this week.
O.K. Well....here is a group shot.

I'll get individual shots as they all shed out and what not. Looks like some nice ones in there.
Awesome! Are does your Atherton animals?
No these are the Cape Carpets....They were bought as New Guineas from the Barkers back in the mid 90's....but, they don't look like any IJ animals I've seen and I've asked 4 or 5 people who frequent that island... and all of them have said they have never seen ANY animals on IJ/WP.... that look like these.
I have been in the Cape of Aussie a few times now and can pretty much get an idea of "where about" they came from by experience looking at them in the wild. I also have a friend in Aussie who works with Cape Carpets and they are indistinguishable from these I have here.
The Athertons are due in 5 days.
I'll post em up when they hatch.
Right on Derek! Just remember........more mouths to feed and your available rack space is slowly dwindling!!!! Don't you wish you could keep them all though?
I'm doing O.K. on space these days....I've moved a few animals and built some more cages.......you really have to come over and check out the stuff.
I really don't wish that..... these days.......Wish you'd pick up a few of them though....then I can come to your place and see em'. Haha.
Give me a shout....you pick up a jungle from Phil?
Congrats on the new babies. Why does the one on the left look more tannish brown than the others?
I get a few of those each year. Last year....one of the "redder" ones turned into this.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/derekroddy/DSC03647.jpg
Out of that same clutch last year I also got...what many believe to be....an Axanthic.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/derekroddy/DSC03583.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/derekroddy/DSC03586.jpg
Looks like I may have 2 this year that look "axanthic"....we'll have to wait and see. This pairing was with the same male but...... a sister of the girl that went last year.....if I do in fact get axanthic animals this year.....it will mean that both sisters and the male...are het's.
Thanks again everyone. Sure is a fun time of year.
More to come.
