Reptster is no longer shipping using FedEx. I do not know all of the details. They are in the process of starting to use UPS for reptile shipping.

I don't know how much is rumor and how much is fact but as the story goes -- people were not being able to ship with Fedex because David was delinquent on the account. His story is apparently that they are moving the shipping to UPS.

This could have been a good thing for the industry -- whatever happened it's too bad it didn't work out.

Are you kidding?

I shipped and received at least a dozen boxes through reptster and could not have been happier. I just bought a pair of butters this morning on ks and suggested they be shipped through reptster to save some coin! Does anyone know what happened and is this on their website somewhere? Is ups available to ship from reptster?

My nicer half talked to a Leo breeder tonight that shipped thru Reptster's FedEx account yesterday. I doubt we'll know all the details but it seems to be hit or miss right now.

I wonder what happened with the customer that was affected? This is a complete shocker. I had no problem at all with reptster or fedex and was looking forward to using them for any shipping I had going or coming. On one big box I shipped to California I saved $28 with reptster. That's almost a tank of gas these days for me.

Just copied this from their website.

I cant get into specifics on why we have made the drastic move with FedEx. I can say because of how they handled a situation Reptster.com will never do business with them again. Since we started the shipping we noticed a huge disconnect within Fedex, the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing and it finally came around and affected a customer in a very negative way.

That said we have taken major steps to make sure this wont happen with UPS. They are willing to work with this community in a very great way.

We do apologize that we had to cancel Fedex on such short notice but we feel we cannot be successful with the problems we have experienced with FedEx.

Thanks,
David Young

I was under the impression that UPS will not ship snakes, although they will ship other herps. Will they change their policy just for Repster, or was I just mis-informed. I was talking to some breeders earlier regarding this very issue.

I think that is the big question of the hour that everyone is asking all over the forums in the past few days.

My personal opinion is Mr. Young is blowing smoke like he did regarding FEDEX and nothing of substance will develop, despite his claims to the contrary.

Personal issues aside that I may have against Reptster I do think that they now have the numbers to prove to UPS that shipping snakes will be beneficial to them.

I have shipped snakes with UPS in the past, was even approved at one time to do it despite what their rules say but I started running into issues with just certain hubs.

UPS is cheaper, always has been but I couldn't deal with the headaches and I really don't think it will change anytime soon.

Hell it took me all of 8 days (weekend included) to become certified from FedEx after I mailed my box. Took me 3 weeks total to get the whole process completed so it wasn't even that bad....

The seller I bought the butters from yesterday tried reptster to ship out today and couldn't. He'll be shipping with a friends fedex account and is costing me $62. :(

I sent a mod over on the reptster forum a pm last night and this morning they said that reptster already has the ups account set up with sizable discounts but they are still working the bugs out of the program to link with ups. He did not know how long it would be before anything could be shipped again and was waiting on David like everyone else. The mod did not know exactly what was going on between David and fedex either. He would not comment other than saying they are no longer shipping with fedex and David was crediting any shipments that were paid before yesterday. The mod did not know that they were no longer dealing with fedex until David posted yesterday.
