Two more lockups observed!

Pair of Outcrossed Bloodreds. 1/4 of the young should be Bloodreds.

Pair of Naturals. Female is a quad het for Amel, Anery, Hypo, and Motley. I put these snakes together just to see if the male has anything hidden in his genotype.

This looks like its going to be a weird season. I have some snakes in their prelay shed and others that are just now locking up. Looks like we're going to have a long and drawn out laying season and hatching season. Nothing like last year when everything hit at once.

Great stuff. That female quad het. has some great potential if paired with the right male.

Yep. I can use her in several different projects. She's a 'guinea pig' this year being used to see if that old male of mine has anything to him.

I hatched her out in '05. Her sire is a Snow het Hypo and her Dam is a Hypo het Anery. Right there is where she gets the het Amel, Anery, and Hypo....no other way about it.

Last year I bred her to a Striped Motley in order to start a two generation project to produce Striped, Motley, And Striped Motley varients of different color morphs. The offspring are only 50% het for each trait she has so that project is going to be a crapshoot.

Out of the pairing with the Striped Motley she gave me several Motley Babies....so she has that too on top of the color morphs that she is known to be het for. Cool.

So either her sire or her dam is het motley. I have bred those snakes together 4 years in a row and have had no Motley babies. So only one of the parents has it, not both.

Originally I was going to do test breedings this season to see which one is het Motley. That fell to the wayside in favor of other projects. I am planning to find out which of the original parent snakes has it in 2010.
