Well, I was a little worried about this girl but she finally decided today was the day to drop her eggs. She gave me 10 good eggs and no duds so I am pretty stoked with those results. This was her first year breeding and I hope she recovers just fine since she left more blood on the eggs than I am used to seeing. Now comes the long wait for them to hatch. Here's hoping for a smooth incubation!

Here are the eggs set up in the box. For anyone wondering about the spoons, that is just a quick improvised way to keep the eggs from rolling. I am sure there is a better way but I just used what I had available.

Big congrats!! Spoon idea is pretty inventive! Might want to mark the top of each egg, so if they do move, you will know.

congrats Kevin!! You did not put my name on mine though...

On the flip side, must be something in the air today! The fat lady is singing over right now. My last woma clutch of '09 is being laid as I type this, and she is a biggun... 4 out, working on the 5th... She dropped 14 last year... hopefully we get the same this go around!

Glad to see she dropped, Kevin. And to echo Ron...remember that drier is better. Also, be careful of condensation building on the spoons if they are in contact with the eggs. Good luck hatching all of them.

Congrats! Remember, not too wet with woma eggs!

Ya beat me to it.
Yeah....that much water......this soon.....will kill woma eggs.

I used almost completely dry containers this year....with better results than ever. Of course...the ambient humdity is at 70% in the incubater....but......NO direct contact with water....or they will go bad.

Congrats....that's a killer animal. Can't wait to see some babies.

Thanks for the advise guys. I think the main reason for the condensation was that I only had the box in the bator for a couple of days and it developed as the temp in the box was stablizing. I will keep a close eye on things and if the condensation builds again I will switch to a drier egg box. The eggs are elevated from the incubation medium and the spoons are a comical but temporary solution.....LOL.

To err on the side of caution I added a more dry incubation medium. I keep the medium in the incubator so the box should still be pretty stable, but I will keep an eye out for condensation. The eggs are pretty settled so I removed to spoons to eliminate condensation building on them.
Here is the updated set up with Tims eggs labled....LOL.

Walk in closet incubator. Oh... the white powder isn't nose candy..HAHA...it is Tinactin atheletes foot powder that I used to combat mold on boob eggs in my Childrens python clutch. It seems to work pretty good too because the eggs are about days from hatching and even the worst of them are hangin' in there.

I have room to put the tubs on racks, but I prefer to just sit down and chill when checking on the eggs.

What day do your womas usually pip?

Thanks man!

As for pipping 58-59 seems to be the average with the records I have and have been able to obtain.
