Not going to give up on taxing us out of debt...let's make healthcare so expensive no one will have it...good plan.

We just had health insurance meetings at work. Guess what, our rates are going up.
I've been paying for health care for 32 years. I have never been admitted to a hospital.
The insurance companys have made money on me. But one hospital stay could wipe us out. You have to have coverage.
Everyone knows something needs to be done. but it looks like Sen. Baucus doesn't want to ruffle to many feathers.
Lets put a bandaid on it and call us in 20 more years. Ahhhhh!

Thats the problem.
There all worried about getting elected.
I wish they had enough balls to just fix the problems.
example.
I've had problems with my budget . I have cut up credit cards and people at my house where not happy. If there was an election I'd been gone.
I know there are people here who are scared of change. Me to.
But we have to fix this.

I told myself to stay off this. ( Politics section ) Whoops fell off the wagon.
OK I'm going back to my corner now.:o

Interesting that some people here view reigning in health care costs as some kind of liberalism wealth redisribution. Those sentiments are misplaced. The desire to do so is actually conservatism based, not derived from progrssive liberalism. Conservatism is about keeping things the way they were, because things worked as they were-- Our parents and their parents weren't subject to estate-destroying house-payment sized health care payments; right there is the true redistribution of wealth, and it is formulated by profit-minded business men who are enabled by purchased political corruption beholden to them. This is a vast draining of monies that threatens to ruin this country from the inside out.

These people are afraid of competition thus the reason they ponied up with this two trillion dollar offer of cost cuts in an effort to control the process. I say fek em. Competiton is exactly what's needed here even if it is the form of a nonprofit government superfund that allows Americans access to pay into the same healthcare plan that the fat arsed senators and other gubmint employees enjoy.

I clearly remember during campaign Obama said of these big health businessmen. He said verbatim-- " They can have a seat at the table, but they can't run the show". My opinion is, if this two trillion dollar offer affects the process then indeed he has allowed a show-runner in.

It's on the table. I wish the single payer people were aloud to be at the table also.
