Found these two plants yesterday while taking a hike through a local bog, they were on the edge not deep off in the bog but I have no clue on what they are...searched but I don't think I am looking in the right place.

First one is Columbine and I beliueve the second one is Mayapple :D. Keep an eye on the Mayapple one. Later in the season it should produce some round green fruit. I've not eaten it, but it's said to taste like lemon.

My wife has some purple ones like the red ones......

unfortunately, I know what it looks like all to well myself.

Quig is right on the columbine (latin name aquilegia). It comes in lots of colors and sizes as well as a double flowers. It throws seeds everywhere and soon will fill a garden I love it. I have pressed the flowers for pictures and that works well also.

I agree with Quig on the first one the second I don't know some sort of flower :lol: Nice shots by the way :cheers:

Quig nails the ID. Nice one, bro. I've always liked columbine, doesn't exactly grow well here in the desert, though. Ah well...... Great shots, too, btw! :yessir:

Thanks everyone, it was growing in a spot that they burned a few months ago so I knew it had to be native but I hadn't seen it before...

I normally can tell you vegetable plants from the leaves but most of the just flowering ones I have no clue on...:lol:
