View Full Version : Shed in the middle of courting?

I have a pair of baos that have been courting and visually copulating since Sept. I "think" the female is getting bigger, but in all honesty I have not seen an ovulation. That being said it's my first year attempting this and I may not know an ovulation from a hole in the ground. The male is still courting half heartedly as of yesterday, but has spent more and more time away from her. Since the courting has gone on so long I gave her 2 med rats in the last 2 months.

My question....... She seems to be getting opaque. Is this a bad thing?

Not at all I always pair my females up when they're in shed. I see tons of action when the females are in shed. It drives the little studs just nuts..

Now the males that a different story. Mine get all lazy so when they shed I give em some time off and a good meal after the shed and they are ready to go..

Not a bad thing at all. Even when breeding they'll still have shed cycles.

Male shed two nights ago and the female shed last night. Now they are back to the action. That explains why he was getting sluggish at it. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Yea man my males start fading fast when they're going blue. No biggie a good chance for a nice rest period.. When you pair them back up watch out..:)
