This clutch wasn't due till the 3rd. Especially since I was incubating at a lower temp to try to ensure females. Anyways.. I checked this morning, no slits in the eggs or anything, but I came home to this:

This is the indifferent momma (her first clutch):

Since I'm already posting pics.. This little guy is just shy of 2 months old. He's pretty cute. I had to move him to set the hatchling up, so I figured I'd take some new pics and throw them up here too. Haven't decided to manhandle him enough to get the loupe out and sex him. Still seems a little delicate to do that. He was a little bit of a late starter, didn't eat for a month. The only food he got was from me putting CGD on his face so he'd lick it off. Apparently it kept him alive long enough to start to want to eat on his own. He now chases crickets down and eats whatever I stick in there for him.

Thanks. Very happy about this baby, being her first clutch. She's one of my favorite females. When she's fired up, she has really nice colors. Hopefully the other egg will hatch tomorrow or the next day.

The other eggs in there are from the same momma, different daddy, me thinks.. I switched the males before she laid.. But she laid those eggs like 23 days after the first ones. Very exciting about all of these eggs.

I will most likely be keeping any females I produce for a while. This girl is part of a selective breeding project, so any female offspring will be kept for awhile to see how they turn out. As soon as they are old enough to sex by loupe, they will go up for sale. If you are really interested in some and don't mind males and waiting that long, PM me your email and I'll keep you updated.

Thanks. The little guys are doing well. They've been eating and growing.

The other clutch that was in the tub hasn't hatched yet.. I expect them in the next couple days, though. That female laid another clutch a couple days later, but didn't put them in the nest box. I'm hoping I saw them in time. They don't look great, but it's been a week and a half or so, and still look like they may hatch. I've seen worse looking eggs go full term, so I'm hoping these ones pull through. I separated my other breeders a little while ago for the winter, so I'm not really expecting any more for a while.
