All of my non-herper friends and family say the same thing. High yellows are sweet, but a high red would be unreal.

I have only worked with a handful of scrubs, but I will say my Bar-necks and Southerns were pretty bitey. My Moluccan pair that I have now are pretty compareble to the range of temperments found in most carpets. My female is still young, so she spooks easily and my adult male is active but reliably stable.

Aside from Mols, I would recomend Tanimbar scrubs ~ MORELIA NAUTA and Halmahera scrubs ~ MORELIA TRACYAE. Tanimbars are bred by a few people, but you really have to look to find them. Halms are the only species of python that has yet to reproduce in captivity and adult imports do not fair to well. If you are interested in Halms, try to find the youngest available specimens. Mols have only been produced outside of Indo a couple of times so CB are seriously hard to come by, however a few CH babies come in from the Bushmaster farm in Indo and they do quite well. Again like Halms and really and type of scrub avoid adult imported Mols.

If you are comfortable with Carpets, then I think you would enjoy any of these three species of scrubs. These are amazingly beautiful pythons that people ignore because of their temperment, but their wild spirit is a part of the charm that endears them to those of us that keep them. Personally, I hate getting bit by even the smallest snakes in my collection....especially as I get older I have out grown trophy collecting..:lmao:...but I use sound husbandry practices to be safe and I don't let my guard down. Respect them, and they can be a fun snake to keep.

Love that red devil! :yessir:
Thanks man! I wish I got a couple more of those reds but my male was a yellow so I have some great expectations for them as well.

Very nice snakes as always Kevin, that Mol girl is stunning! Can't wait to see a certain red devil all freshly shed out!
Thanks Jason! Dude's chick is coming along nicely and hopefully in a couple years I can hatch out some little Dudes. Your red devil ate last night as well, but I am not sure if he/she is in shed because the water spots from daily misting. I am going to switch to distilled water for misting inorder to aviod that confusion. In shed or not the important thing is he/she had it's third meal and now the next step is to try and get them to feed without teasing.

Gorgeous animals!

Im loving the mini baby Childrens pythons pics:)
Thanks Chris, those little buggers are pure entertainment!

That red devil is awesome as well as rest of other collection
Thanks Liz!

The eyes on that one is wicked :yessir: Cool shots overall
Thanks John, you know what they say the eyes are windows to the soul......wicked indeed!

Nice pics! The red devil:devil: looks pretty HOT!
Thanks, I am pretty psyched on this batch of chondros and as if that wasn't enough I am only a couple weeks away from Woma babies another one of my favorites.

Those are some awesome pics Kevin! I like those childrens a lot, even though they are fiery LOL.
That fire will eventually burn out, my adults are super chill. But for now I really get a kick out these little punk rockers.

Great to hear!!! Shed or no shed, feeding success is great news!

I hope you can get Dude's chick (great name btw) up to size, and get that project going, it'd be great to see some US Captive Bred Mols. I love the look of them, but have no plans for them personally so I'll live vicariously through yours. ha ha.

Nice Mol where did you get it from?

I got her from Ben Seigel as a farm hatched juvie from Bushmaster farms. That is pretty much as good as it gets until more are available as USCB. Unfortunately, I don't see this species being produced in any numbers consitently year after year, but the ones that are produced will be highly sought after by Scrub enthusiast.

Although they are an aquired taste, they are very fascinating snakes!
