Hey guys I went herping today with a friend in south part or Iowa. We found some cool stuff we found my first timber rattler, a milk snake and a green tree frog here are the pictures.

Nice! That Timber is what's known as the southern variety, identified by the rusty stripe down the back. Old school hot heads would call that the Canebrake Rattlesnake. Crotalus Horridus atricaudatus. Some don't recognize it as a valid sub species of Timber though, and drop the latter part if their name. To me they'll always be Canebrakes.
