I'm about to get a yearling 50% super dwarf 100% het albino female retic in a trade and am incredibly excited about it. I've always loved retics and their morphs, so when the super dwarfs came out they seemed like the perfect thing.

Can anyone give me an accurate adult size for a female 50% super dwarf? I was told about 10ft max, but have heard anywhere from 8-9 to 15. I personally doubt the larger reports as being from genuine super dwarfs.

Also, at what size/age can super dwarfs breed at? Most of the info on retic breeding I've read has been about mainlands, so a point in the right direction would be great. I think I'm going to look for a male 50% super dwarf tiger het albino if I can ever find one.

It's hard to say the top size for a female 50% SD... there aren't that many older adult animals out there. From the breeders I've spoken with about 50%ers it sounds like 8-9 for males, and 10-12 for females... although I would guess if you feed them really heavy you could get females up to 14.

It gets really hairy if the albino gene is from a SD to Dwarf Albino (Jampea x Mainland)... because then you're looking at 50% SD 25% Jampea animals, so they could stay a bit smaller than the lengths above.

I think the size is realistic, our male just over a year old is probably 5 1/2ft long and eating medium rats, we're pretty certain he was pretty well maintenance fed for the first 6 months with the breeder, because once we started offering larger multiple meals his growth took off. We anticipate he'll top out at 7ft.

I'll have to look up the SD breeding info again, I have a link saved somewhere....

Have fun with the new venture! :yessir:

It's all percentages and if your snake ends up being bad at math then you can end up with one bigger than you expect, but it will be smaller than a mainland.

This girl is supposed to be around 3-4 feet at over a year in age, but I think she's been getting smaller meals than she can take. Don't worry, that will definitely change once she's in my care... I'm not too concerned about her eventual size, just as long as I'm not going to end up having to lug around a 20-footer.
