Looking good brother. I see your using the auto watering system, nice choice. I use bottles and man I work my butt off filling those suckers every other day..

I produce a couple hundred to a few hundred rats every 4 - 6 weeks and the ASF rack at full production of 1.4 per tub gets me 400 - 600 weaned every month. Had to trim the ASF back tho , too many and not enough folks local using them.

If I had to use bottles again I'd give it up. Auto watering is definitely the way to go.

It sure is. I think people have too much of a fear on floods. The time to water each bottles out weighs checking for floods and watering each bucket. Dont you think???:p

Most definately. I check my colonies at least 1 - 2 times a day so its fairly easy to catch a drip or leak. It doesn't happen often enough for me to consider bottles again for sure.

Auto watering is the best i have used this type of system for years with only one flood per year.

Each tub has a drinking valve. They sit in the mesh so don't show up in pics.

Nice set up... After building two snake racks with Bob Vila Jr.(my father) and making sure everything was done as if it was going to be sold to the president or something I broke down and spent the cash on a ARS rat breeding rack... cost a pretty penny up front but the feeding trough and auto watering system are reaaaal nice.

Not really. I move the weaned in the holding tubs by the double handful without getting bit. Every so often a female may get a little aggresive over her litter but thats about it.
