I'm going to be building a hatchling rack later this year and like to plan things out before I start. So lets see what the bush leagues finest have built so I can brainstorm!! I'm planning to build something that will hold at least fifty hatchlings to start with. Thanks in advance.
What size hatchling? Jeff has one that he built to hold hatchling BP's, boas, bloods that holds 45 cages. Then we just use the sandwich containers right now for the corns that will be here soon.

Here are mine.....
All home made.... black racks hold 15 qrt tubs.... the ones on top of the black ones hold 6 qrt tubs.
The 6 qrt ones are just MDF board, side supports and screwed together with heat tape running down the back.... not flash at all, but they are temp housing for hatchlings. I pretty much slap one together when I need one....
The 15 qrt racks are for raising hold backs - future breeders - whatever you wanna call em. They have heat tape under each shelf at the back of the racks.
That's it....

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll be housing baby bloods for the most part and baby carpets as well.....size wise I'm thinking 15qt tubs so I can keep some holdbacks in them...I don't know though...would a 15 qt be too big to start? Scott....I think I like the belly heat idea...what size heat tape did you use on those 15qt racks and what material did you build them out of?

After the fun of my blood clutch this year I am under the impression that 15's might be to spacious for them, but for every answer like mine I bet you can find someone that uses them with no issues

Here is one of my old hatchling racks I built myself. It is to the right of the boa cages. To avoid sagging you can see I put in braces on every other shelf there are 2 and 1. Each shelf holds 6 - 6 qt tubs. So the shelf with one brace there is 3 tubs on each side. The shelves with 2 are in sets of 2 tubs. I had designed it to fit under a counter top.
